READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING

GENERAL

This luminaire is designed for outdoor lighting service, and should not be used in areas of limited ventilation,

or in high ambient temperature enclosures. Best results will be obtained if installed and maintained according

to the following recommendations.

UNPACKING

This luminaire has been properly packed so that no parts should have been damaged during transit. Inspect

to confirm.

MOUNTING

PHOTOELECTRIC CONTROL

When a photoelectric control is used, the photoelectric receptacle should be oriented so that the word

“North’’ is directed toward the true north direction. This can be easily done by seating a photoelectric control into

the receptacle, lifting upward on the photoelectric control (which will lift the photoelectric receptacle also), and

rotating them clockwise until the word “North’’ is directed toward the true north direction. Lower the

photoelectric control and receptacle to firmly seat them into position. No tools are required to make this orienting

adjustment.

Alternatively, the photoelectric receptacle can be oriented before the photoelectric control is installed. This

is done by lifting up on the rim of the photoelectric receptacle and rotating it until the word “North’’ is directed

toward the true north direction. Lower the photoelectric receptacle to firmly seat it in this position. Install the

photoelectric control.

Because of the shielding of the cupola window by the cupola top it may be necessary to adjust for an earlier

turn-on time of the photoelectric control.

ONE PIECE REFRACTOR REPLACEMENT

To remove a textured refractor on this luminaire, loosen the canopy captive screw or latch and tilt back the

canopy. Remove the refractor assembly unit. To replace refractor reverse this procedure.

FOUR PIECE REFRACTOR REPLACEMENT

To replace a prismatic refractor on this luminaire, loosen the canopy captive screw or latch and tilt back the

canopy. Disconnect the photoelectric receptacle plug and unclip the leads form the house side panel. Remove the

refractor panels as a unit. Release the defective panel from the tongue and groove. To replace the assembly

reverse this procedure.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

WARNING: MAKE CERTAIN POWER IS OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY MAINTENANCE.

It will occasionally be necessary to clean the optical parts in order to maintain the light level. Frequency of

cleaning will depend on the dirt level in the area and the minimum light level which is acceptable. Wash with non-

abrasive soap, cleaner or detergent solutions and rinse with cool water.

This luminaire is provided with means for mounting on 3.000'' max. outside diameter pole tops.

Feed the power supply leads through the slipfitter wire access hole as the fixture is installed on the pole.

Orient canopy screw or latch toward street and level by adjusting the three screws, and tighten.

(CAUTION: Tighten screws to 15 - 20 foot pounds torque.)

WIRING

NOTE: Make all electrical connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable local

code requirements.

NOTE: Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it to nameplate.

120/240 VOLT field RECONNECTABLE ballasts are factory connected for 120 volt supply. For 240 volt

operation, rewire per attached wiring tag.

Loosen the captive screw or release the latch which holds down the canopy, tilt canopy back toward the

house side. Connect power supply leads to the luminaire leads provided or to the optional terminal board.

NOTE: Connect ground lead to the green ground screw on the housing or terminal block.

NOTE: Use only lamps specified on nameplate. Observe lamp manufacturer’s recommendations and

restrictions on lamp operation, particularly ballast type, burning position, etc.

Damage may occur to the fixture if the lamp is inserted while the power is on, or if the lamp is not tight in

the socket when the power is applied.

Lamp Tightness Mogul Base Lamp: The lamp should be securely inserted to the NEMA-EEI specified torque

of 35 inch-pounds, which is best achieved by very firmly tightening to insure application of sufficient torque.

Tightening must be sufficient to fully depress and load the center contact of the socket.

LAMP INSTALLATION –

INDUCTIVE TECHNOLOGY LAMP

CAUTION

NOTE: Use only lamps specified on nameplate. Observe lamp manufacturer’s recommendations and

restrictions on lamp operation, particularly ballast type, burning position, etc.

Damage may occur to the fixture if the lamp is inserted while the power is on.

The inductively coupled electrodeless lamps are factory supplied with the lamp installed. To replace the

lamp, remove the four screws holding the mounting brackets to the reflector (Figure 1). Disconnect the lamp

wiring harness and attach the new lamp. Secure the new lamp with the four screws through the mounting bracket

and close the fixture. Use one of the following lamps: OSI 26100 or OSI 26101.

PRÉSENTATION

Ces luminaires sont conçus pour fournir un éclairage à l’extérieur, et ne doivent pas être utilisé dans des

zones à ventilation limitée ou sous des températures ambiantes élevées. Les meilleurs résultats sont

obtenus avec une installation et un entretien conformes aux recommandations qui suivent.

DÉBALLAGE

Le luminaire a été emballé correctement de façon à ce qu’aucune de ses pièces ne soit endommagée

pendant son transport. Veuillez procéder à une vérification pour le confirmer.

MONTAGE

Ce luminaire est fourni avec ce qu’il faut pour le monter sur un haut de poteau ayant jusqu’à 76 mm (3 “)

de diamètre extérieur.

Passez les fils d’alimentation électrique au travers de l’orifice d’accès de câblage de l’adaptateur coulissant

quand le luminaire est installé sur le poteau.

Orientez la vis ou le verrou de couvercle vers la rue et mettez à niveau en régalnt les trois vis, puis

serrez la fixation.

(ATTENTION : Ne serrez les vis qu’au couple de 22-30 mkg 15-20 livre-pied).

CÂBLAGE

NOTE : N’utilisez que le type de lampe spécifié sur la plaque d’identification. Observez les recommandations

et restrictions du fabricant sur le fonctionnement de la lampe, en particulier pour le type de ballast, la

position d’utilisation, etc.

COMMANDE PHOTOÉLECTRIQUE

Quand une commande photoélectrique est utilisée, le module PE doit être orienté afin que son marquage

“North’’ soit dirigé vers le Nord vrai. Ceci est facilement réalisé en mettant un module PE dans son réceptacle,

puis en le soulevant, ce qui soulève aussi le réceptacle, et en faisant tourner l’ensemble dans le sens du

vissage jusqu’à l’alignement du marquage avec le Nord. Rabaissez alors l’ensemble module et réceptacle pour

les remettre fermement en place. Il n’y a pas besoin d’outils pour faire ce réglage d’orientation.

Vous pouvez également préférer orienter le réceptacle avant d’installer le module photoélectrique. Pour

cela vous tirez sur le bord du réceptacle et vous le tournez jusqu’à ce que le mot “”North’’écrit dessus soit

dirigé vers le Nord vrai. Vous rabaissez ensuite le réceptacle fermement pour le remettre en position. Vous

installez alors le module de commande photoélectrique.

Du fait du masquage de la fenêtre de coupole par le dessus de coupole, il peut être nécessaire d’effectuer

un réglage pour un déclanchement d’allumage plus tôt par la commande photoélectrique.

REMPLACEMENT DU RÉFRACTEUR MONOBLOC

Pour remplacer un réfracteur à surface grenue sur ce luminaire, desserrez la vis captive du couvercle ou

déverrouillez-le, puis penchez-le vers l’arrière. Déposez l’assemblage de réfracteur. Pour remplacez le réfracteur

suivez une procédure inverse.

REMPLACEMENT DU RÉFRACTEUR 4 PIÈCES

Pour remplacer un réfracteur prismatique sur ce luminaire, desserrez la vis captive du couvercle ou

déverrouillez-le. Débranchez la prise du réceptacle de commande photoélectrique et dégrafez les liaisons sur

le panneau côté maison. Déposez les panneaux de réfracteur tous ensemble. Dégagez alors le panneau

défectueux de l’assemblage à rainure et languette. Pour remettre l’ensemble en place, suivez une procédure

inverse.

ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE

AVERTISSEMENT : ASSUREZ-VOUS QUE L’ALIMENTATION EST BIEN COUPÉE AVANT DE COMMENCER

TOUT ENTRETIEN.

Il pourra être nécessaire à l’occasion de nettoyer les parties optiques de façon à maintenir le niveau

lumineux. La fréquence de nettoyage sera fonction du niveau d’empoussièrage de la zone et du niveau

minimum d’éclairage considéré comme acceptable. Lavez avec une solution savonneuse ou du liquide détergent

ou nettoyant non abrasif et rincez à l’eau froide.

NOTE : Effectuez tous les raccordements en conformité avec les normes nationales et les éventuels

règlements locaux applicables.

NOTE : Vérifiez que la tension secteur disponible est la bonne en comparant avec l'indication de tension

sur la plaque d'identification.

Les ballasts 120/240 volts RECONFIGURABLES sur place sont câblés en sortie d’usine pour être alimentés

sous 120 volts. Pour un fonctionnement avec une tension secteur de 240 volts, modifiez leur câblage en

suivant les indications de leur étiquette de câblage.

Desserrez l’écrou captif ou déverrouillez le maintien du couvercle, et inclinez-le vers l’arrière du côté de

la maison. Connectez les fils d’arrivée d’alimentation avec ceux du luminaire ou branchez-les sur le bornier

optionnel.

NOTE : Reliez le fil de terre sur la vis de terre verte ou la borne spécifique du bornier.

INSTALLATION DE LA LAMPE – DHI

NOTE : N’utilisez que le type de lampe spécifié sur la plaque d’identification. Observez les recommandations

et restrictions du fabricant sur le fonctionnement de la lampe, en particulier pour le type de ballast, la

position d’utilisation, etc.

Des dégâts peuvent être occasionnés au luminaire si l’ampoule est mise quand il est déjà sous tension,

ou si l’ampoule n’est pas bien serrée dans sa douille quand il est mis sous tension.

Serrage de lampe - culot goliath : La lampe doit être insérée de façon sûre avec un couple de serrage

NEMA-EEI spécifié à 4,4 mkg (35 livre-pouce), ce qui est le mieux réalisé en serrant fortement à la main pour

mettre un couple suffisant. Le serrage doit complètement appuyer et charger le contact central de la douille

avec le culot de la lampe.
