GUIDE FORM SPECIFICATIONS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The totally enclosed, weather-resistant luminaire designated

_______ (identify) shall be a GE WALLMOUNT

400 luminaire,

ordering number _______ (specify WMTS, plus ordering number

logic from catalog) or approved equal, to operate one _______

(specify [250 or 400] watt high pressure sodium [HPS] or metal

halide mogul base lamp from a nominal _______ (specify 120,

208, 240, 277 or 480) volt, 60 Hertz power source. The lumi-

naire shall include a completely prewired integral ballast and

an optical assembly. The luminaire shall be

UL/cUL Listed SUITABLE FOR WET LOCATIONS. The luminaire

shall be cUL for 120X347 volts. Standard construction is IP55.

The optical assembly shall have an anodized aluminum reflec-

tor with an Alzak

finish, impact/heat-resistant tempered pris-

matic borosilicate refractor and a heavy-duty mogul base E39

socket.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION

The luminaire shall include a die-cast aluminum mounting

plate, housing, and removable side-hinged door with glass

refractor sealed to it providing complete front access to ballast

and lamp. Die-cast aluminum surfaces shall have a dark bronze

paint finish. Multiple junction box mounting patterns shall in-

clude provisions for 3-¼-inch (83 mm) octagonal or 2x4-inch

(51x102 mm) rectangular junction box. The luminaire shall have

provisions for a field-installed photoelectric control kit.

BALLAST OPERATION

The luminaire shall have a standard Autoreg ballast*. The ig-

nitor (for HPS only) and ballast shall be prewired to the lamp

socket requiring connection of power supply leads only. The

ballast shall be in full compliance with lamp-ballast specifi-

cations available to the fixture manufacturer from the lamp

manufacturers at the time of fixture manufacture.

The ballast shall reliably start and operate the lamp in ambient

temperatures down to -20

F for mercury and metal halide and

-40

F for HPS.
